Manchester and Salford City Guide

Posted at 11 July 2022 in Village Life

Known as one of the most student‑friendly cities in the UK, Manchester has one of the largest student populations in Europe. With around 100,000 students in Greater Manchester, there’s no doubt that this northern hub is a fantastic place to be a student.

Home to the world’s longest‑running TV soap and the birthplace of British music legends, Manchester is a vibrant and diverse city with plenty to see and do. From lively nightlife to shopping, museums to picturesque walks, let’s take a look at what you can expect to get up to as a student in Manchester and Salford.

Castlefield

Filled with canals, waterfront bars, green spaces and plenty of wildlife, Castlefield is one of Manchester’s most relaxed neighbourhoods, making it the perfect place for a stroll on a warm day. ☀️

The area is also home to Castlefield Bowl, an outdoor music venue, which hosts an annual Sounds of the City series of concerts featuring a range of popular music acts.

Feel Good Club

Located in the heart of Manchester's Northern Quarter, Feel Good Club focuses on mental health and wellbeing and is the first of its kind in the city.
