Campus Living Villages, appoints John Schroder as Group Managing Director
Susan Oliver, Chair of global student accommodation specialist, Campus Living Villages (CLV), is pleased to announce the appointment of John Schroder, as Group Managing Director.
With a property career spanning 32 years across the commercial property sector, John has been responsible for, and has led all disciplines across the major property asset classes.
Most recently, John was CEO of Stockland Commercial Property, where he was responsible for all facets of the $11.8 billion property trust, including retail, commercial, business parks, logistics and intermodal property investment assets.
John was part of Stockland’s Executive Committee for 12 years.
Prior to joining the Stockland Group, John was Chief Operating Officer of Westfield America, based in Los Angeles, USA. As a key member and leader of this business, John was part of the senior team that substantively expanded the Westfield US operations to 66 retail centres, and ten airport concession terminals, across 12 states, overseeing the leadership and management of 1,500 employees and a considerable property development pipeline.
Prior to moving to the USA, John worked in Canada and the UK on acquisitions for the Westfield Group over a 12 month period. During his career John also held senior roles with the Lend Lease Group and Westfield Australia, prior to his overseas assignments.
John said of his appointment, “I am very excited to be joining Campus Living Villages, working with CLVs owners, the CLV Board, Regional Executives and their teams to shape the future direction of the business.”
Of the appointment, Susan Oliver said “this is a very exciting time for the student accommodation sector, and a significant milestone for Campus Living Villages. The Board, is pleased to welcome John to the business and we are looking forward to a very successful future.”
Since her appointment in March, 2018, Susan has overseen the appointment of John and the recently announced UK CEO Lee McLean.
John commenced with Campus Living Villages on Monday 17th of September 2018, and will be based in the Sydney Head Office.
